Prepare to be mindeffed. My first time watching this video it took me at least 10 minutes to process everything. I find stop motion so amazing because it’s so tedious. It’s a lot easier to do now since there are cameras that have higher shutter speeds than in the past when stop motion was first used in the early days of film (we’re talking black and white, no sound, George Melies work here). In any case, the way this short uses it is not easy.

Director PES uses stop motion in creative and somewhat twisted ways. (Do not look up “Roof Sex.” Trust me.) He’s even set to direct the Garbage Pail Kids movie. In my opinion, not a movie that needs to be created. But hey, it does fit with his (or her) twisted creative outlook.

For the last two weeks, my latest obsession has been Draw Something. Draw Something is an app available both in the iOS and Android Markets by OMGPop. The basic premise of the game is you challenge your friends (which you can find by username or by linking to Facebook) to guess what you have drawn from the list they provide for you. There are three levels of difficulty for the words that you draw (easy, medium, hard). If they guess correctly, each player gets between 1-3 coins (depending on the difficulty of the word). Why is this game so freaking addicting? Here’s why:

When you first download the game, you are only given 4 colors: red, blue, yellow, and black. In order to get more colors, you have to play multiple turns in order for you to get enough coins to buy a new package (249 coins for a package of 6 new colors).

After you play for a while and have multiple games going on at once, you tend to draw the same words over and over again. Personally, I am trying to find different ways to draw ‘Adele’ and ‘Lebron James.’ The whole “no ring” thing I’ve been doing is getting old.

If having to play that many rounds gets tedious enough you can just nut up and buy the full version for a whopping 99 cents. Automatically you get 400 coins and 2000 more words to draw.

Even after two weeks, I am still playing this game. I am never going to be as amazing as the artists above though. My drawings are limited to stick figures and me cheating by writing words instead. Sorry bout it!

If you’re an iOS user, chances are you have the Instagram app on your phone. If you’re a Droid person like me, you’ll be happy to know that there’s an app in development for us too!

My point is Instagram has been the latest trend for photography, both for personal and somewhat professional use. Although it has meant to bring back the nostalgic feel of instant cameras, it has basically pushed them to the back corner. In addition to the look of instant film, photos can be instantly uploaded to the Instagram gallery and synced to other platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

In comes Instaprint. Still in its early stages, Instaprint is a photo booth that allows Instagram users to print their photos instantly on inkless paper.

How it works

When setting up Instaprint for an event, you select which hashtags and/or location tags you want Instaprint to look for. Any Instagrams taken by any user (tagged appropriatly) will then be grabbed by our cloud servers and sent down to your Instaprint device(s), as well as your instaprint.me online gallery.

Set up by the company BREAKFAST, it is still in its prototype phase and is looking for backers to turn it into a consumer product through a Kickstarter campaign. Visit the website for more information at instaprint.me

WOW time goes by fast. Been in code doing both BakitWhy & Hikikomori site development while trying to push overall progress for BakitWhy in some appreciable direction. I totally didn’t know that 7 days went by from the last post. Uber update!

Day 15: Trying to figure out the best way to create a new improved Podcast for an unnamed company ;)

Day 16: Team BakitWhy at the Red Carpet. Cause it’s always red carpet when you wait til the end ;)

Day 17: Finally finishing off a meme, the right way of course

Day 18: Hard part of trying to create engagement strategies is that you forget to apply it to yourself. Follow @kasamamedia for basically the same updates you see here ;)

Day 19: Shameless plug to apply for ALL positions!

Day 20: It’s President’s Day! So why would we be working (visibly?)

One of the most difficult and overlooked details about running a media/content provider is that you have to figure out where to store the media. This little 1TB metal guy and his companion Pogo Plug have failed their last fail. Please, if you can, go with cloud hosting, or else the evil digi-gremlins will eat your byte-sized children.

If you haven’t visited the soon-to-be-transferred Kasama Media office, it’s nestled in the neat little LA neighborhood of Venice/Marina Del Rey. On the way to the office, the now-dubbed office cat aggressively stalks anyone who gives it a second of attention.

Here at Kasama Media, we try to produce the best content in a timely manner. Or latch onto companies that do that for dear life. The always fancy Xylophone Films closes out the whole “Sh*t People Say” meme with the end-all film: Sh*t My Filipino Dad Says.
